Tasty Tuesday (Vodka)

November 15, 2011

I think Canada is the best place to live in the world. I like the cold and I enjoy our national anthem. I rarely beef about our beautiful country… until now.

What in the world is going on in our liquor stores?

Up until recently I was quite satisfied with our boring vodka selection, not knowing there was more than just the yucky stuff Smirnoff makes…

While walking the strip in Vegas, I was having a strong hankering for a peanut butter cup and I decided to hit up a Walgreens. Before I could walk 10 feet into the store, walls and walls of liquid courage stopped me. It was more than our regular Canadian brands of fiery rubbing alcohol infused vodkas.

Although it’s still Smirnoff, I would imagine that the Marshmallow flavouring would mask the taste of the horrible vodka.

Then I moved over a shelf, and fell to my knees and started to cry when I saw this;

Could it be… my favorite food group had been turned into a beverage? No longer would I have to crash 6 year old’s birthday parties to get what I really want. And this stuff was cheaper than buying a gift for the little brats! Cake tastes exactly like what it claims to be, Imagine the most delicious white cake topped with a sweet vanilla icing! Delicious!

Now being the high roller I am I sprung for the Three Olives brand ($30) but if that price is a little steep for your budget I found you a cheaper maker. Pinnacle also sells a version for $18.

Of course if we ever get lucky enough to see these in Canada I would imagine the price would be nearly double!

Oh Canada, I love you, but sometimes you do me dirty!

Mr. Fab day cake

  1. I could make a really gross comment about the “Dude” variety of vodka, but I’m sure you’ve thought of it already! 😉

  2. You can get the three olives vodka in Canada maybe just not the cake flavor, I’ve had bubble (which tastes just like bubble gun), grape, rootbeer. They are all fabulous!!

Looking forward to reading your comments!
