Welcome to Istanbul, Turkey

June 4, 2011

Today has left me in complete shock as I have disovered my favorite city thus far. Several countries and numerous cities later, I have been to a place I can’t wait to return to.

Welcome to Istanbul, Turkey.

This place has impressed me. The parks are immaculately groomed, the streets are clean, the people are friendly AND they make Turkish Delight!!!

This city has got their all there ducks in a row.  A quick and efficient innercity above grond train system, great places to eat, Turkish baths, and the worlds largest public market, The Grand Bazaar.

The Grand Bazaar consists of 58 covered streets with more than 4000 shops; it has more stuff than the worst case ‘hoarder’ on A&E. They accept Turkish Lira, Euros and American Dollars.

Obviously nothing is priced so you have no idea how bad you’re getting ripped off, but thats half the fun! The city is also covered with historic sites and mosques which are quite well kept. The point is, Istanbul knows who they are and what they’ve got, and they’re proud of it.

Yes, your milkshake brings all the boys (and girls) to the yard! Keep mixing that good shake!
